Porcelain with B L U E

I was discussing my project with my housemate who studies Ceramics and she suggested I tried a technique called Sgraffito. This is done by painting on coloured slip and then scratching away thus created the drawing. The small fragments of clay reminded me of the broken concrete in our garden at home.

I was really pleased with how these turned out, as I had never done anything like this before I really didn’t know what to expect. The relationship between the man made ceramics and the natural form links back to the Manna peice
